1st in Australia (by 2pts sic)
-No 1
There was alot going on in Team Chili this season. The team went 79 days without a first place and it looked like it would be the teams first Donut season while active. New star Florian Everaerts delivered the result in Luxembourg TT with 11 days to spare. 8 days later with Team Chili having fallen to no 2 in the Australian rankings, after leading all season, there looked to be no hope of wrestling the top spot from Australian NT manager Help. Day 87 Florian inched into victory at Aalborg giving the team a 2pt lead in the Australian rankings. Team Jayco, Help, Dodge and AusGo are growing in the rearview mirror and it will be a huge task for the team to maintain its top spot in season 37.
-No more cobbles
The team always had a long term plan to get out of cobbling after the Div 2 cobble tour. Finlay had a poor showing which cemented the teams decision to get rid of the Australian great and his supporting 89ers. The cobbles have been very good to the team and helped deliver them into division 2 but Finlays days at the top level were numbered.
-Goodbye Carl + Rus
The team added young star Ruslans Liepezers to boost the time trialing squad and immediatley the teams results started to improve. The peak of the Rus + Carl pairing was the double result during the Cymru tour. Carl + Rus were meant to lead the team for many seasons until the unthinkable happened, Florian Everaerts season 35s top division 1 rider was availbable on the market during his prime. This triggered the sale of Ruslans after only 30days with the team and Carl the teams longest tenured rider since returning to ocm.
-Floz era
There was alot of anxiety about spending 700k on a 27yo that would be falling back in to division 2 to compete with the great Foncho Reto. So far the fears are unfounded as head to head the score is Reto 1 vs Floz 2. The team is all behind taking Floz to Cymru and try and deliver him the GC in the next few seasons.
